BETHAN MARRIOTT

A series of small sketchbooks to use for observing and studying different places and people and actions, such as at the street market and the community spring fair.

One containing very quick sketches in pen of all the people who I saw sat on benches. I always found the locations of benches and where people chose to sit intresting as it is one of the few ways to stop for long amounts of time and be still and watch whilst in public spaces. 

Another was of doffernt places where people were waiting, such as at the train platform, bus stop and crossing the road. Waiting for something is another moment when it is socially 'acceptable' to be completely still in a public place.
